I’m Michael King, a portrait artist based in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. My work primarily focuses on oil painting, with an emphasis on capturing the character and essence of my subjects. Through bold brushwork and expressive use of colour, I aim to create portraits that convey both personality and emotion.
As a self-taught artist, my journey has been shaped by a deep curiosity and passion for the craft. I work on a range of projects, from private commissions to original works inspired by music, identity, and contemporary culture.
My recent work has been showcased locally, including an exhibition at Craft and Canvas in Hebden Bridge. I’m currently accepting commissions for custom portraits, and I’m always exploring new themes and techniques for future collections.
